OP cpurser Member C Joined: Sep 2000 Posts: 182 Slidell, LA	My power steering pump makes a "wrrrr" sound when I turn my steering wheel for the first time after cranking the car. The reservoir is full of power steering fluid. The car is a '98 SVT with 64k miles. Any ideas? Chad Purser '98 Silver SVT Mostly Stock

Pimptour98 Member P Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 31 chicago	My tour did make the same noise i had the powersteering fluid flushed at Lubepros and now it is fine. It was like 60 bucks or something. The noise could be from a wet belt or something like that. 98 contour silverfrost pimpdafied

For some pumps it means they are getting close to the end of their lives, but for others noise is normal. Having the power steering fluid flushed is a good idea, since there is no filter in the system and just like any oil, it needs to be changed after a while.
