OP pnnytrdr Junior Member P Joined: Jul 2002 Posts: 2	'99 Contour SE seems like the rpm are excessively high. At 75mph it runs right at 3400-3500rpm. Is this normal? Never had a car that revved so high while cruising.

G Pappas Member G Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 237 Alexandria, VA	I would be grateful for a higher revving engine. Higher revving burns off more gunk in the engine and leaves a cleaner running engine. Plus, 3000-4000 RPM is not that high, especially since the car redlines around 6000-7000 RPM. 1996 Contour SE Sedan 4D (Royal Blue) Duratec V6 2.5L 24-valve DOHC Automatic 75,000 miles No Mods (unless you call the DMD a mod) Replaced EGR valve (gunked up), EVR (EGR VR), PCV valve, and evaporative emissions hose (cracked).
