My 99 svt brakes are screeching. So much it is annoying. The weather here (Pitts., PA) has been very humid. Could this be the reason? Also, my brake pads are semi-metallic and there isn't any deep scouring on the rotors.... I'm not too sure why they are screeching so bad. Does anyone else have this problem? If so, what was done to remedy it? Clean the brakes? New pads? I hope someone has a little insight on this annoyance. Thanks.

If it just started, it might just be some dust. If it happens regularly, you could take the pads off, clean the back and apply some Permatex, and then clean and lube the slide pins. This all assumes the pads still have some life in them, of course.
On performance pads grind a slight bevel ,around 30 deg on the leading edge..it will stop it...
