Just a couple of days ago I put on my turn signal and when it shut off the column kept making the clicking noise but it was a faster clicking. I know that it makes this sound if one of the bulbs is burnt out but all of the bulbs are fine, my turn signals work and so do my flashers. Has anyone else had this problem before? If you can help me out I'd apreciate it since it makes the clicking noise constantly as you drive. Thanks, Jerry

Check this thread and the link therein: http://www.contour.org/cgi-ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=3&t=008144&p= Seems to be getting to be a frequent problem since reported by Big Jim . Edit: Big Jim: Darn, robbed of an assist by slow typing.

Sometimes we can be a competitive group. Mostly, we're just helpful.

My 96 did the same thing. Turned out to be the turn signal switch assembly. I had it a part and found that the handle mechanism can where out the brass connector tracks causing it touch just enough to activate the system, but not activate the turn signals themselves. Anyway, the solution is to replace the whole assembly. Take the top cover off of the steering column and release the top of the turn signal assembly (it has one of those locking thingy's, you'll see it) as you lift unplug the 2 harnesses. Put new one in. 10 min job, tops. I paid 25.00 @ junkyard or go to fordpartsonline.com they have them for 75.00
Can't afford a 911 yet!
