no no no man, that can't be happening, you gotta make it in time for the meet, I worked my ass off everyday after work so I could have my car ready for the meet. All i have to do is run a power wire through the firewall to my subs and I am ready to go!!!

Hey, before you spend money on a starter, check out a couple of other things, 'cause it wouldn't be the starter if it's dying while you're driving it. I would tend to think it's a bad ground, power connection, or something like that, given the symptoms you're describing. It could be that when it gets hot, the resistance of the connection goes up and it fails. Or maybe some component is getting hot and failing, and doesn't start working again until it cools off some. Although that wouldn't explain the starter not working, unless it controls that too.
Anyway, I'd start with the grounds to the engine itself, and to the EEC processor. Don't forget to check BOTH ends of the ground wires too. I know there's a major ground or two under the air filter housing, and other places near the battery. It could be that one of them is corroded, loose, or otherwise ineffective. Poor connectionns can cause some BIZARRE problems! If that doesn't fix it, I'd check power to the processor and any associated modules, and power from the Start and Run positions on the ignition switch. Good luck -- I hope you find the culprit soon!

Sounds like a bad ground to me too. I'll give you a call tonight if I get off work early enough and maybe I can give you a hand. It's always nice to have a second set of eyes!
