Hi guys- Inherited a '95 GLX (54K Florida car) from my Dad on Monday; joined the site yesterday. Already know how to fix the clock, turn-on and improve the fog lights, and fix the passenger side front window!! Great site.

Working on a bad vibration, while the tranny is in drive, at a stop (tach reads steady). The MAF has been mentioned in several related forums. Don't know what that is and where to find it. Seems that cleaning it helped a lot of people with various ills.

Great little car. New wheels and tires next.

Welcome Russ!! Great car you got! Less miles than my 1999 SE.

You will learn to love that car with the resources available on this site. ENJOY!

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

Welcome! Here is a link to the Terminology page on this site.

Terminology

The MAF is located inside the Air Inlet that is between the Air cleaner housing and the Throttle Body.

If you have a 4-cyl then the vibration is pretty much inherent with the Zetec. Not much one can do about it. Mobil 1 and some good plugs can help, but it'll still be noticable.

Of course, "bad" here is kind of subjective. It could be, actually, really bad and fixable. But some heavier-than-normal vibration is the norm with a Zetec 'Tour.

You want to hear a bar vibration drive my car. After like 15 seconds after being stopped the whole damn dash is rattleing, the steering wheel shakes like you wouldnt believe, the CDs and [censored] are falling off the dash because it is shaking so hard. If you put a vent control on the hell you better look out, the engine revs down then up then down then up then down the up.
