Anyone know if the Taurus SHO motor/tranny will fit under the hood of a Contour? I'm not happy with the stock 170hp for the Contour Sport 2.5L Duratec and would love some extra power!

Um, have you searched? (I hate beign a search nazi).
Anything can be done with money. First...can you afford to buy a 3.4L V8? Um, probably not, they still cost quite a bit from a junkyard. Second, can you afford the fabrication to put one in?
The easy answer. NO!!
The SHO V6 will not fit either...

I wouldn't touch a V8 SHO engine with a 10ft pole... They have serious cam problems that destory the engines... I know...I had a 96 V8 SHO that decided to grenade on me at idle also finding one of thoes engines is a needle in a haystack because of this specific problem...you'll pay for it...I've heard of USED V8 SHO engines needing slight rebuilds for 5-7k

Yes, but there is a fix out there for them, $500 to get the cams welded or $5k in a 'used' engine...

Look at my sig, a guy in Canada put a V8 SHO block in his 92 Topaz, but it took a lot of modding to get it to fit. I would assume that you could put a SHO in a 'tour but the time and money could be better spent elsewhere.
