I removed the water pump from my 1998 E0 SVT today and found the impeller had disintegrated and the stainless steel cone in the back half of the pump had come loose.
Per Terry Haines (one incredible guy) my mechanic will restake the cone and install the GMB/NAPA steel impeller pump after flushing the coolant system as much as possible and looking for any plastic parts from the failed pump.

I intend to take Ford to court over this and I need your help/experiences to bolster my/our case. Help me to help you, won't you?

Ray provided more than enough info on this subject via the links he provided on your duplicate post on this subject. No need for you to duplicate post, especially on an old topic.
BTW a shop "fix" on loose cone is leaving yourself wide open for further problems. A new OEM housing would have been a better bet for the long term health of your car IMO.
