Thanks. I was just informed by two different shops that replacing the spark plugs, wires and fuel filter would cost between $350.00 and $375.00. I think I may have to try doing this myself if this is too high. I thought folks who drove BMW's or Audi's had to pay that kind of money...yowsa!

I don't know about the wires & plugs, on a Zetec all it
takes is 15 minutes and a $14.99 Wal-mart toolset.

The fuel filter is fairly easy on Contours (requires
crawling under the car though). Do a search on the
forums, there are several tricks posted how to avoid excess
fuel spillage (or choose to go your own way and smell of
gas for days ).
All you need is a flat screwdriver and maybe some WD40 to
undo the clamp bolt.

Gray, PLEASE do not go to a dealership anymore. I live on the Air Force Base and my hub & I will be happy to help you out as much as we can. Please either PM me here, or email me at mrsfurby72@yahoo.com if you are still having problems. I will be happy to meet up with you somewhere, come to your place, or even have you come to the base and we can put the car on the ramps and check it out. My hub has enough experience with my Tour that he can work on some of this stuff.
