Hello All,

I have had my Contour for 3 months now. I freakin love it. I have a CEL and a wheel bearing is gone (162,000 km) but hey, i still love it. I am overly impressed with fuel economy, (~ 600 -675km on a tank).
I makes me very sad to see that Ford has discontinued them here, or have no plans to bring over the Mondeo. I think they should drop the Taurus and start haulin' over the Mondeos! LOL

Well anyways, couple of quick questions

Is there anyone in the London Ontario or close with a ODB scanner, that would scan my car for cheap??

Is the wireing installed for me to replace my non-tach cluster with a tach cluster? (as in unplug and plug in new one)Or will i have to do some wiring?

Finnally, until i either find a cluster, or add a aftermarket tach, could someone please tell me MAX shift points just before the redline
so for example
top speed in 1st = ###, 2nd, 3rd, etc

Thanks in Advance
Colin

I don't know anyone in London with the OBDII. I have an OBDI though not that that helps you. As for the instrument cluster. I assume you have a line on one @ Corey's or Shaw or something. Make sure you get a cluster off a 4 cyl car preferrably same model year. The wiring is already there IIRC. Also third is good for 137kph in my 96 4cyl but only 132kph in the 95 V6. Hope that helps.

Canadian Tire has (or can order) a ODBII reader.

It's around $130-180 (If I remember correctly), and It's a half decent brand.

It's a little bit of cash, but you'll always have it there.

It's how I ended up with my Ball joint Fork.

That would be awsome...
How much u want to scan it? And where/when is a good time for you?

Thanks to all for your info...its greatly appreciated...

Anyone changed a front wheel bearing. I hear that they are pressed in...is this true? I have one ordered, but any special tricks or shortcuts would be welcome.

Thanks Again
Colin

Your right the front wheel bearings are pressed in. My car has one going bad too. I'am around Sunday, just give me an email.

Chris

Chris are you the guy I met at the Canadian tire gas bar a few months back?

Good I thought you had forgotten about the CEG. Glad to see your posting. I'm in town next weekend. Maybe we could plan a mini London meet for Sunday or something. I'm sure Keith would be game.

Usually a big socket can pop em out.... just make sure you lube it up nice when putting it all back together. Take your time too
