If any of you guys leave near Dayton, please let me design and mount a FMI to your car. Nothing will be hurt on your car....i just need to take off your front bumper. More than likely, wont even need to do that. I'll buy you a beer for the trouble! And a tour of my shop!
THANKS! Nathan

I'm assuming FMI = front mount intercooler, right? The only reason I ask is because you'd assume if it was as easy as having a bumper off and a simple design in the time of "about 1 hour", someone would have done it already...

LOL..... How long do you think a front mount on a Cougar took. AN HOUR! Its not that big of a deal. Running the tubing through the wheel well will be the time consuming thing. All you do is piece the tubing together...tack weld....refit it....send it out and have most the pieces mandrel bent. The end.
Thanks, Nathan

You know, I bet Stazi would jump all over your offer, god knows that he never thought to try to fit even a small air to air intercooler to his turbo CSVT.
You probably could get it in there and plumbed perfectly in half hour tops, its not like its hard to fit, or that any automotive engineers that are part of these forums have even tried finding a place for one. . .

This is about fitting a fmi on your car. I am not wanting to completely fabricate the tubing and all in an hour. Sorry you misunderstood my posts. Thanks for the sarcasm though...

From my SC post: Originally posted by KnuKonceptz: I dont think you can plumb 2-2.25" pipe from the SC outlet tube, down to the bumper, into an IC, back up into the engine bay period. My motor is out. Car, SC, Motor/Tranny headers are sitting in Beford OH. Come on up and take a peak.
Thats not a flame, thats just MHO.......
Have you seen how the Vortech sits in the car? Or how the drive shaft connects etc?
In addition, in a month or so (being very optimistic here) My Body Kit will arrive. I will have the front clip completely off the car. No bumper, headlights, hood or fenders. Your welcome to come look at the car......

Oh, I already have the perfect FMIC for my car........sitting in my basement. Too bad that there's no way in HELL you can get to pipes from the turbo to the FMIC and then back up to the TB again. Sure, it fit's in the front, but you can't use it........
Like I've said before. The exhaust pipes from the turbokit already occupy all the inital engine bay space available, and the turbo intake pipe goes through the stock fender hole already, so no luck there either, and with an SVT theres no gap between the edge of the radiator and the openings i the frame, so you can't go through there either. Basically you're SOL if you want a FMIC, hence why the kit is offered with a water-to-air IC
