I dont even remember if all this was on or not but some was I know. Oh believe me I know I cant beat one off the line. I'm not an idiot. Maybe with quite a few more bolt-ons this might be possible. Who knows! It would be nice eventhough I dont know if it can be done without force induction. I still have quite a list of things that need to be done.
Well those definately are not LS1 mods, so I suppose it could have been a 96-97 (LS1s start in 98). However, my guess is, as mentioned, it is a V6. I was at the track for American Iron shootout 2 and there were probably 30 or so v6 firebirds and camaros that were decked out and badged up to look exactly like their V8 buddies.
There is just no way you are pulling even a stock 96-97 LT1 at any speed, our svts are not in the same league with them -- believe me I know!

Hmm... I've raced several LT1 camaros & Firebirds, from a roll I have not had any problems with them...but from a stop there tq # will pull your a** down the road If youre not F/I , they are not that impressive with bolt-ons IMO 13.5-13.0...LS1's are a whole diffrent ball game though.
P.S. ezsvt check out the website in my sig.

What kind of whp are you putting down on the jug, and what trap speeds do you get with that set up?

I raced a 96 trans am and it totally killed me. And he lined up next to a GTP and killed him as well. I asked him what he had and he said a V6 with the cat removed. Is this possible? I mean it pulled out. 13 flat in the 100's. But I said it before, our cars are awesome on a track with room to extend those longggggg legs.

He was lying. A V8 Trans Am without a cat would have a hard time pulling that time, much less a V6.

I figured that...I don't know why people just don't tell the truth about their car. He had his girl in the car giggling like a kid. I mean I just wanted to know what his set up was. It looked old and beat up, but it was fast.

Most of the real fast cars a are usuaily beat up,usuaily the owners worry about going fast and not looking fast.

First of all, the only Trans Am that ever had a V-6 was the 25th Anniversary model made in 1989, it had a hi-po turbo V-6. So right off the bat the guy you raced lied. The 1996 Trans AM came with an LT1 V-8 (de-tuned corvette motor) putting out 285hp and 325 tq. Nonetheless, 13 flat in the 1/4 for this car without a cat is very hard to believe. Was it a manual or an automatic? Either way he must have had some mods done to it to run a 13.

Most of these people that won't tell you what they are running probably try to make some money on the street racing scene. I know people here in the subs of chitown that run intentionally slow on the track because they want to hustle on the street. Oh, if that girl was all giggly the nitrous tank probably sprung a leak. That would explain his fast ride too.
