A few weeks ago my tour went into the shop because the AC wasn't blowing cold air. The guys at the shop said they could manually get the compressor to turn on, and when they did it worked fine. When I asked if they could just replace the clutch, they said no. Is this true? The clutch is a $50 part, and of course, it would be a lot cheaper to just replace that. Yes, i've called around, and everyone said they had to look at it ($60 at least) and I didn't want to spend that $ if I didn't have to. Thanks in advance.

What did they diagnose? What do they want to replace?

mine to, my a/c doesnt ingage it stays the same from vent to a/c. the dealership said that its wireing and after 1 hour($100) they narrowed it down. they said that it worked if they skipped the wires or something. still dont know what it is but i have diagrams from when they explained it to me.

EDIT: Just tested the link I provided and see you were the topic starter on that thread. Why are you posting the same question again?

My A/C did exactly the same thing.

When I switch on the A/C from inside the car,
the clutch is never engaged in.

Finally I found that R4( the relay for
the clutch ) never gets a '+' signal from
the ECU(computer module).

What may cause this? The dealer has replaced
the heater blower switch and its resistor
under recall.

My response to your PM still remains unread.

R4 contact gets feed from a/c clutch cycling pressure switch (at accumulator,left of battery). R4 coil gets feed from a/c high pressure cutout switch (next to coolant reservoir).
