So, if they ever get these fires under control and our cars are unburnt, any ideas for post-fire cleanup? I'm thinking: first a thorough wash, and then replace air filters (both cabin and engine air). Anything else? Would ash take off the wax?
I vacuum'd mine out today and am not going to bother washing it for about a week or two... an air filter would be a good idea. wash and wax and waa laa.

I'd keep hosing your car off for sure, TONS of contaminants in the ashes... just don't let it outside WET, it will only grab more crud...
I don't have any indoor spots to hose it off and let it dry. I just waxed it like 3 days before this happened too. Plus my water is harder than a rock, so I'll get stubborn water spots worse than anything.
