Getting a whirring sound from the pulleys. Zetec ATX. Belt could use a change. Could it be the tensioner? Only happens at idle on occasion. Tapping the throttle makes it go away for a second or so before coming back. Any suggestions would be appreciated. frown

after i changed my serp belt (Dayco) I get everyone asking me if my car is S/Ced. So it could possibly just be the belt if you just changed it. Oterwise, yes it could be in the bearings in the tensioner starting to go.

I think my tensioner may be goin'. How will I know when it's gone? Also... when I hit the accelerator hard when just sitting in park w/ hood open, it makes a phhh noise, like air,,, is that normal? It just goes phhht real quickly.
