Over the past year or so, I have received misfires only upon starting the car. I never get a misfire once the car is started.

Here are the dates and cylinders affected:

04/20/2002 Replaced original spark plugs w/ Autolite APP764 (double platinum)
09/02/2002 Replaced original ignition wires with FMS wires
10/05/2002 Cylinder #5 (P0305)
05/03/2003 Cylinder #2 (P0302)
06/29/2003 Cylinder #3 (P0303)
09/16/2003 Cylinder #3 (P0303)
10/14/2003 Cylinder #4 (P0304)

As you can see, a misfire only happens every few months and they seem to affect random cylinders.

FYI: The gaps on the plugs should be good. I used dielectric on the ignition wire boots.

My guess is that either the coil is going bad or the FMS wires need to be replaced.

Any intuitive guesses out there?

It never hurts to replace the coil & megafuse connected to the coil. (maybe it's part of the package, I'm not sure)

Plugs may have been fouled by misfires too. You can spot check them to ensure gap & condition of plug.

From what I've read, OEM spark plug wires seem to work best. But I'm no expert there.
