(didn't know how else to word the subject) anyways, I'm getting a code that says "EGR valve flow excessive" But its not the EGR valve. old one tested out fine and I put a new one on anyways. I need to know what else could be causing the problem. I dont want to pay $60/hr to have a mechanic tell me I have a pin hole in one of my hoses. I've been driving around with a CEL for weeks now, please help.

Editing your topic to your quoted phrase plus the actual code would probably help attract interested/knowledgeable members that could post assistance and would certainly help future searches.
p.s. I presume you reset PCM after replacement and that you checked the new EGR valve. BTW how did you check old valve to confirm it was OK? DPFE transducer and EGR vacuum regulator solenoid are other likely suspects with this fault code.

Check the DPFE hoses,if one is off or split can give you that code,if the hoses are in place then the DPFE itself may be faulty,it measures the flow to the EGR.....
