The carpet in my '95 'tour is loose in a couple of places: Inside the door jambs on both front doors, and in the back in front of the seat. I bought the car used, and the problem was there when I bought it. The Ford dealer said he'd seen it before in Contours. He had little suggestion on how to fix it, though.

Have any of you seen this, and could you recommend a fix? Thanks in advance,

CJB

I've seen that. I used Goop to stick it in place, but that didn't work very well.

3M makes a spray adhesive that is suppose to work well. I've also heard of a special adhesive tape used for this.

Any automotive apolstery(sp?) shop should carry something.

I just ordered a Ford Oem carpet replacement (redesigned also) for my '95 tour a month ago from Bill Jenkins at Signature... It cost less than $150... You do have to reuse the padding underneath though.. But at least you have a new carpet..... It's pre-cut and molded... Expect it to take at least a couple of hours to install...

Liquid nails glue . comes in a tube. :p All the early tours have poor fitting carpet as the carpet was made too small when made. eek
