Everytime I step on the gas all my change flies out and onto the floor/backseat/forehead. Does anyone else have this problem?

No, my car isn't a dump Seriously though, even if it were, my car isn't fast enough to make the change fly out of the trash holder beside the instrument panel

Yes, it is very annoying. in fact, there's a quarter wedged in the seat rail from one of the times the change went airborne...

I never used it for anything.
When I had the Contour, I kept an Altoids tin for spare change - it fits perfectly under the emergency brake handle and is convenient. It also provided entertainment when my friends reached for a breath mint.

My cell phone fits perfectly in there so i don't use it for anything else, the ashtray is for change anyway since nobody smokes in the tour.

i believe they are talking about the one that is up on the dash, to the right of the instrument cluster/steering wheel. Not the center column. I keep bolts for my backseat in it. good thing my car isn't fast enough to send them flying, those Star Driverā?¢ screws/bolts are pretty big and would probably break a whole in my back window lol.

Same here. The only person allowed to smoke in the stique' is VERY good friends and my wife. Change still goes into the ashtrey. I think I counted it one time and had over 30 dollars in that damn thing! Good stuff I'm tellin ya.

I used to keep loose change there until one day, with the car at the dealer for service, someone stole all the coins. It's amazing what some people will do for a few bucks.
I still keep spare change in there for tolls and parking meters. What I do now is keep the coins in a 35mm plastic film container, which fits perfectly in the little tray in the dash. It keeps change from flying out during hard cornering, and I always remove it from the car before I take it anywhere for service. I also remove my CD case, the front panel of the CD player, my garage door opener, and my cell phone accessories. Better safe than sorry, I guess.

LOL, I have never had this problem as I don't fill the damn thing up so much. I usually only keep 4 quarters, 4 dimes, 4 nickles, and 4 pennies in it. Not much at all.
