My friend just got an 03 Cobra a couple weeks ago, anyway, he called me up about an hour ago and said he was at the track. All he has done to the car is a K&N drop in. His 1st run was a 13.1@107, messing up 2nd and 3rd gears. His next two runs were 12.85's @110! Next on the mod list is exhaust, and blower pulley!

I've got a sweet program for those. We had one on the dyno that we chipped with a smaller pulley and it did 425hp and 460tq to the wheels. Just sick.

WOW...that's amazing. That Cobra never ceases to impress me.

Chris, if that Cobra is around next time I'm down there...I'll stick around for that!

yep...they're impressive. My ex-boss runs about a 12.6-12.7 at 4500 ft elevation. He has a chip, pulley, exhaust, TB. Way impressive.

Yeah my good bud who has been in a few MM&FF mags is running mid 10's. And this is on 275/35/18 Khumo Ecsta's. 100 shot of nitrous and too many bolt on mods to list.

What was the baseline? 360/380ish? .....Must... refrain... from... closeout... specials....

No disrespect to Ford, but I've seen slightly lower numbers than the ones given in a naturally aspirated LS1 with modest internal modifications (springs, camshaft, retainors), exhaust headers, X-pipe, and SLP intake lid. The supercharger is awesome, and for modding what can be better than free factory boost on an already high displacement factory engine, however Ford is falling behind, IMHO. The battle of the pushrods versus the overhead cams is ending up in favor of the engine with the longer stroke.

I seriously hope the next generation Cobra engine will be as good of a contender as the new generation GM engines. These guys up in Ford can produce amazing 4V/c, DOHC all alluminum engines like the Duratec on the low end of their product line, yet on the higher end it takes boost to silence their competition ?

On that thought, though, it beats the hell out of what I drive!
