this is my first post. Unfortunally it has bad news. My very clean csvt has a rod knock with 51,000 miles on it.I am wondering if any body out there has had the same problem i am having.

Yea 40% of the SVT owners on this board.

Best thing is to go to the 3L forum and read up on doing a 3L/SVT hybrid engine.

Way cheaper than buying even a USED SVT engine.

These engines have an oil starvation issue on long sweeping right handers. i.e. if you run your oil even a pinch low then take a right handed on or off ramp at high rpms, the oil does a combination of staying up in the head (due to high rpms pumping it all up there) and thus the oil level low is now low in the pan, and it moves away from the oil pickup (due to centrifigal forces) resulting in a drop in oil pressure (all it takes is a split second to wipe her out) and voila spun big-end bearings.

I just found out from a service advisor at village ford for wich i work, that there is a servic plan i think it is called a g5 plan. which is that you are aloowed two major repairs after warrenty. However i must pay 40% of the cost to ford wich he estimated would be $2000 so i would only have to pay about $800 for a new motor not bad i hope

What did they do to you?I know who the good techs are and you better belive i am going to keep my eyes on them.

The break something every time he takes his car into get something fixed.

OH MAN DO I HAVE STORIES ABOUT VILLAGE FORD!!!

Their body shop is absolutely ridiculous!!! You want proof!!???? Come look at my car. Any day any time I will make time to show you what a bunch of morons they are! My paint job is ruined. Every time I go there so they can "fix" their mistake it comes back worse. My drivers side is two different shades of silver now. I am so fed up I am just going somewhere and paying to have it done right. And that's a hell of a lot of money I have to shell out now, because THEY SCREWED UP my car when they were supposed to fix it!

And while they are messing up my car they don't return my phone calls or seem to care about my problems.

On a little brighter note. The service dept. is OK. They could be better, but I really don't have too many complaints. My service advisor is Tracy Mandernach if you want to know. And I have no complaints with him either. He has always helped me out. A good guy. I wish he worked at the body shop!!
