Like the title says, I need new all-season tires to replace the Firestone Firehawk GTA's that came on my car. They are 205/60R15's. They have 25K on them, and they're pretty much worn out. Also, with my little "incident" last winter, I don't feel comfortable driving the car in the snow with the Firerocks. (I live in Ohio, and the roads aren't always plowed.) So I went to www.tirerack.com , and looked at the all seasons they had. I narrowed it down to a couple of choices.

1.) Michlen Harmony (205/60R15)
2.) Goodyear Regatta 2 (205/65R16)
3.) Goodyear Aquatread 3 (205/60R15)
4.) Continental ContiExtremeContact (205/65R15)

I don't drive agressively, I'm more concerned with wet and snow traction. So, anybody have any of these tires? Tirerack says the Continentals are the best in snow, but they're not supposed to be in stock until 11-26-03, and that's too late for me. My second choice is the Regatta 2. Any tire here that I should avoid? If anyone knows of any other all-season tires that are good in moderate snow areas, fell free to say so.

The continentals are one of the best value tires I've found. I'd try to find them from somewhere else if possible.

If you can get Kumho Ecsta HP4's in your size, they are awesome and have a great price. I got mine at Tirerack, $280ish for all four to my door.

Had mine for abouut 3-weeks on the SVT now. Better than my worn out OLD ContiSports. Priced right at www.tires.com too!

Priced righter at www.tirerack.com atleast in 215/45/17. I think I did a search on there and didn't see his size listed on www.tires.com, maybe I didn't look real good though.

I have the Regatta2's on my Geo Prizm (it came that way)

As far as wear and wet traction, they are pretty good.

How do I know. I've had to replace three of them in the past week.

The first I replaced because I had a nail too close to the edge to repair.

Paid for the tire, and purchased road hazzard for the remaining three tires purchased from this tire dealer.

Two days later, I hop a curb in the dark and rain, and cut down the new tire. Replaced under road hazzard for $30 and I'm on the road again.

Yesterday, I'm filling up and I notice that the back tire on the same side has a bubble, so I take it in this morning for replacement (another $30) and after 20K miles on 2/32nds have worn away.

So these will definately last a long time. Not my first choice in a tire characteristic. But they seem to be a competent street tire. I have no idea how they will do in the snow, and they are not the highest performance tire out there.

But I'm not unhappy with the Goodyear Regatta2.

Tires.com offers free shipping, don't forget that in your pricing!

Plus I got new 17" wheels so it worked out for me as free ship, mount & balance plus they threw in Gorilla lugs and locks.
