so i went and saw texas chainsaw massacre last night. all i can say is wow. i dont get scared at gory horror movies, i like the ones that mess with your mind more, like the ring. well this movie frightened me. ill just say that a few of my friends left within the first 30 min. cause they couldnt handle the movie. not the gore, but everything together. there were a few times where my heart had to be on the verge of exploding it was beating so fast. though its not as graphic as you might expect from the premise (they didnt show ALL the nasty parts, but plenty enough) this movie is definitly not for the faint of heart cause there are some pretty bad parts, like the beginning.

anyone else seen it?

also i heard that this may not even be a true story, is that true??

Found this...

Texas Chainsaw Massacre is LOOSLY based on Ed Gein. The face mask is really all that its based on, nothing else. So was Silence Of The Lambs (the cannibalism and the nature of Hannibal) and Psycho (Geins weird attachment to his mother -like in Psycho) So no, TCM isnt true...its loosly based on a true story of Gein. The actual events didnt really happen like they did in the film.

Ed's story

havent seen it yet, but really want to!

as for being a true story...
kinda-sorta-not-really-maybe-yeah....

there was never a cannbalistic family, but there was a leatherface. He did soem kilings and some grave robbing and soem people eating.
his name was Ed Gein.

i dont think there was any actual proof of him wearing peoples skin though.

I saw it last night. It was sort of okay, not the worst movie I've seen. It didn't really impress me. I did like how the movie repeated itself (you'll know what I mean when you see it). And actually, I loved House of 1000 Corpses. That movie wasn't meant to be scary. I'll have to check out the original Massacre, haven't seen it in years.
