If you want effective for the least amount of money I would suggest a maf adapter and decent sized k&n with a homemade heatshield (nothing new here ). For exhaust, modify your stock y-pipe and a trubendz catback. All this can be done for under $500.

Other than that, I would suggest taking advantage of the great little SEARCH feature on the site for more info.

I agree. Definately the best bang for the buck.

ok to all those jerk asses out there. if you do a search for the stuff mentioned before you either get ONLY this thread, OR you get about 100 other threads...
how do i optimize the Y pipe? or get the magnaflow or that other exhaust.. they are not even listed in the mods section of the site. the K&N is and i have ordered that withe the heat shield... there is a speacial. also will the aluminum intake pipe fit with the K&N?

thansk again!

Well if you get 100 other threads, don't you think your answers will be in there?

If the special you are referring to is the sho-shop intake, you'd be better off ordering the k&n that was conveniently listed above and making your own heatshield. This would be cheaper and more effective. Also, y-pipe optimization IS in the mods section. But what do I know, I'm just a jerk a**?

not that I'm a Duratec guy but I'd suggest getting the CTA aluminum intake pipe also. (ctamotorsports.com)
