i was just wondering if the focus zetec engine will fit into a 96 contour? cuz i blew the tranny in my tour and its been sitting in my driveway for 6months now and i have the oppurtunity to get a 2001 focus engine and tranny.
im thinkin it will work, especially if i keep the motor mounts and stuff but i dunno. any ideas??

nobody has successfully completed this swap, someone here not long ago tried to do a regular zetec focus swap and found a few differences that stopped it from being a "quick and easy swap"...also there was a guy on NECO that tried a Focus SVT swap on his cougar and failed... Guess they're not as similar as everyone thought...

Can u swap in a 3.0 L in a Zetec? How hard would that be? Would it have to be a six cylinder? if it is I bet you have to have a new tranny and all huh?

Didn't whoever tried the first time (w/Focus engine) say that the block was the same, but the waterpump and oil pan were different? Like if you changed those to the contour spec ones, then it would work?
