i installed my 4 4way 6x8 speakers today, and suddenly realized how horribly enclosed the sound it. i could heat the music CLEARLY outside the car, and it wasnt even turned up a lot. so now i must buy some sound damping material. i have seen two highly recomended products, dynamat and brown bead...which would u guys recomend? any others i should look in to? how easy are they to install?

dynamat is WAY too expensive. or u can try rammmat or the mcmaster stuff or the partsexpress stuff. from just doing my front doors. i bought the mcmaster sheets and stinger roadkill spray. the mcmaster is great for inside the door (flat surfaces) but was hard to do the interior of the door due to the non flatness. it didnt come out as great as i thought. weather is getting colder and i'm running out of time. i'm gonna pull the mcmaster stuff from the door panels (not the door skins) and use something that shrinks when heat is applied. i sprayed the stinger on the doorskin over the mcmaster. i didnt spray the door panel.

Or if you can find yourself a building supplier, get yourself some aluminum backed peel n seel. Works just as good, yet dirt cheap. Approximately $1 per sq foot

IMO, Raamat is the best. I've used Dynamat xtreme, Cascade, Partsexpress vinyl, and Raamat.

I just recently changed my front doors from cascade to Raamat...a noticeable difference. No more buzzes @ frequencies where the cascade allowed buzzing.

It's inexpensive, easy to apply, and it works great. The only drawback is the weight...maybe 25lbs for enough to do your front doors and trunk.

my $02.

I'm using it myself in my car.. works just as good. I bought 2 rolls, and only needed 1. It was 33sq ft for $33. It's just dynamat extreme with a different label. I can't tell a difference in performance.. yet this one is waaay easier to work with.

You can get the aluminum backed peel and seel from construction/building suppliers. You could try Home Depot. If they don't have it, you're going to have to search around for it. It's really great stuff.

You can get Raammat from www.RAAMaudio.com. It's mail order only IIRC.
