Well, it hasn't yet, but it sure sounds like it. I was driving down I-5 south of Salem, Ore. at about 90-95 when I noticed that my front-passenger door sounded like it was open some what. When I got to my house I opened and closed it, and it didn't seem to be shutting all the way. I drove around my neighboorhood to see if just wasn't shut, but no, air was still getting through at about 40-50 mph. This isn't really a big problem, but it's just one of those things that can really get annoying after awhile and I can't imagine my passengers liking the feeling of having their door fly off. Any suggestions on how I can fix this? BTW, I highly recommend the purchase of a radar detector to any of you out there. I've had my cheap $60 Cobra for two weeks and I swear it's already paid for itself. A wise investment for those of us who like to what our V6's are made of.

Normally weather stripping is the cause of excessive noise, unless your door has been damaged. Is a cheap radar detector really worth it? I was planning on waiting to get a goood one. We also like to see what our zetecs are made of. I heard that cheap detectors go off all the time cuz of automatic doors at stores and such and they don't detect early enough.

Easiest thing to do would be to spray some silicone on the weatherstripping; it dries out over time and silicone keeps it supple and effective. Next, you could take off the door panel and check the moisture barrier for any holes or improper seals.
On radar detectors, I think a cheap radar detector is more dangerous than none at all because you are lulled into a false sense of security. Having tried several other detectors, I'd settle for nothing less than my V1. This has been discussed ad infinitum on this site before...

A big part of speeding is also knowing the town your driving in. I've lived in Salem, Ore. all 18 years of my existance, and I know hot spots where the pigs like to hide out. But nonetheless, the 60 dollar Cobra detector I bought has been very effective in alerting me of cops with radar in use. On the way home from work tonight I passed a cop going 55 in a 30, and my Cobra DIDNT do anything, which tells me his radar was off, because I think any cop looking for speeders wouldn't have hesitated to pull me over. Most detectors will go off by grocery stores, but the beep is different and a different symbol flashes up on the LED display pannel then that of a radar gun. So if you willing to pay $300 for custom floor mats (which I'm sure some of you have ), then I think you should cough up 60-100 for a radar detector. Remember boys and girls, if we weren't supposed to speed, they would do a better job at preventing it That's my 2 cents.

El Hefe your method of starting topics by saying something completely stupid in the topic title then saying that that something stupid didn't happen/hasn't happened is getting really old.

El Hefe :I opened and closed it, and it didn't seem to be shutting all the way.
So, is this passenger door not closing all of the way? I had an issue like this last year. I replaced the door latch on the passenger side door. The I had the same problem with the driver side door. Replaced that door as well.

The best way to fix this problem is to:
Get in the car. Leave your seat belt off. Get it up to atleast 100mph. Make multiple hard right turns. Slam into the door with you shoulder.
Our problem (err your problem) is solved...

Don't refer to Police Officers as "pigs". It's extremely disrespectful. Not all cops are perfect, but they all do a tough and mostly thankless job. When called upon, they give there lives for poeple they don't even know. How quickly we forget the sacrifice made by the NYPD on September 11, 2001. Someday, you might be in a situation where you need one of those people you call "pigs"...and God forbid, your life may depend on them. Two of my best friends, that I've know all my life, are cops. They are both fathers, they like to watch sports, play PlayStation2, and drink beer. Just like everyone else. They're not "pigs"...to the people whose lives they've saved they're heroes. Most cops will cut someone a large amount of slack if treated with respect...and no slack when treated like "pigs". Have some respect please...
