Getting another set of new rotors today cause the ones on the car are warped and just replaced them in 2001. What causes these rotors to warp so soon. Thank God they are only $24.00 at Advanced Auto, but just wanted to know what may be causing this. Could I have bad Calipers or something?

Rotors rarely actually warp. What happens is they develop hard spots which make themsleves worse over time, by way of getting hotter than the surrounding material, and those hard spots stay "high" relative to the rest of the rotor and then you have the real problem: Disc Thickness Variation.

It can be caused by improper bedding of the brake pad material, it can be caused by using the brakes too hard and then sitting with your foot on the brake, it can be caused by improper rotor seasoning, and it can be caused by [censored] rotor material in the first place.

It can also be caused buy heating up the brakes and cooling them too quickly.

It can also be caused by improper lug torqueing procedures. 4-lug hub designs are more prone to this than others.

It's not like he bought cheap rotors. They were $24 each.

He should start off with a higher quality rotor, IMO

My rotors warped because some of the vent holes rusted closed. I think it was from the salt on the roads during the winter.

It can also be caused by a time portal.

Seriously, though, I'd look first at a good quality set of rotors. Then, a torque wrench. Then a proper seasoning and bedding.
