I recently got a 98 Contour SVT, damn i love the car. However when I have two or even one person in the backsite, when i hit bumps i can hear my wheels rubbing in the wheel wells. I took it back, they replaced a stabilizer link, drove it and it still does it, i took it to meineke where they said the springs were cut to lower it, i then told the place i bought it from and they ordered new springs for me. I take it in, and the mechanic calls me and tells me the springs were not cut , but the struts were bad. Pick it up, drive it and still the same thing. The tire size is right, wheels are stock SVT rims. Any ideas guys? Thanks!

What size are the tires? (Stock was 205/55)

The later SVT's had modified fender liners installed to fit the 215/50's (they fit 225/50's as well)

Grab your dremel, go out to the car, and if you see a spring ANYWHERE you cut the booger in half!
Then go around the neighborhood lowering everybody's car!

you dont wanna cut your springs , but people do, they also heat em up, its the wicked ghetto way of lowering a car. Would this be the suspension noise that they are talking about in the Common Problems FAQ section?

I'm off to lower every1's car. Think I'll do mine last to see how I like it. I'm gonna heat them up. I think I saw Jesse James do it on discovery channel. Any tips?
