Does anyone know which 3.8 final drive gears fit the 2.5L duratec MTX75??

Would one from the euro spec MTX75 with the B1 gear set??

Thanks for the help...

Try the 3.84 ring gear from the Zetec MTX-75.

Why are you looking to slow down your acceleration by the way?

I Don't...

I Have a brand new euro spec tranny with the B1 gear set, which I have fitted with a quaife and a 4.5 final drive.

I have a brand new stock diff and 3.82 iirc ring and pinion, which an acquaintance of mine wants for his new 3L swap in his SVT. I was told that certain 3.8 final drives won't work in the duratec MTX75, so I wanted to know if this one would fit.

Hey Cougar451 how do you like your 4.5 final drive? I assume that it is the Capaldi Racing unit?
Did you notice any extra whining noise while you are at speed as a result of the new fd?

Cheers

What rpms does the car rev at going 70mph with the 4.8 unit?

I offer PnP Heads for all durtec's details at PnPheads.com or jesse@pnpheads.com for details.

I haven't installed it yet...

I have some garage time in a few weeks, so we'll install it then. I'll be sure to update everyone. Should be cool...and with the closer 4th snd 5th gear ratios, and the 4.5, I should be able to fly through the gears.

But I'm still am not sure if the 3.8 from this tranny will fit in the standard MTX75 on a duratec...

At an indicated 120Km/h I am doing about 3600RPM. Don't know if the speedo is correct or off a little. I think that 120 km/h is about 70MPh...not sure though.

The speedometer is controlled by the computer. Just because you change the final drive does not make the speedo accurate. You will need a chip or reflash to make the speedo accurate. While you are at you might as well bump up the timing, turn on the fans earlier and a list of other things.

My comment about my speedo was in regards to me using 225 40 17 tires on the street & 225 45 17 on the track as compared to the stock sized.
I did not think that the fd would affect the speedo... just the tires I am using.

FD shouldn't affect speedo on our cars but that isn't necessarily true for all cars.
