I dont know why but its done it 2 times so far, ill start the car for the first time of the day then drive. half way down the street the O/D light starts flashing and it seemed my engine was going slower or something. so i pulled over both times, shut off the car then turned it back on and it went away...anyone know why its doing this?

It's a MIL (Malfunction Indicator Light). It means your transmission has set a code. You need to pull the code and post here for help. Note Autozone will pull codes for free.

This is called a 'limp home mode'. It's a program the tranny defaults to when there's a problem. From what I understand the trans just goes to the full manual, non-electronically aided mode. The flashing light is notifiying you of that. The car is shifting harder and it's not near as smooth and comfortable as it once was right ? It has to be reset, normally it's something very minor, but the tranny has to be reset before it will go back to it's electronic operation.

Mine used to do it to, I had the fluid changed and it hasnt happened since. With it shifting harder though, as someone else said I dont really ntoice that, I'm not sure if they reset the tranny, I never told them the light would blink, I just told them to change the fluid.

You need to disconnect your battery for at least 20 minutes or longer, to reset the shifting patterns in the computer.

Yes! More then likely. I would take it back to them since it should be under warrenty still. It was not too long ago that it went out, right? Let us know what they say.

i went to autozone today and he hooked up something to the car. i told him i needed codes pulled off it and he was like clueless...so he said he only had an OB2 or some [censored] like that kinda scanner so he tried that and nothing. but i think he said it was for emissions so its different. i have no freakin clue. i guess im gonna call AAMCO tomorrow to see whats up...

When the overdrive light flashes, that sets a code that a typical OBD2 scanner cannot pick-up.

Yes. Take it back to them and let us know what they say. At least it is under warrenty.
