Looks like I put my first message in the wrong category. Sorry everyone. I need your help. My 96 Contour V6 3.0 litre overheated......had them put in a new water pump. Still overheating. They are to check the system tomorrow to see if the heads are warped. Could it be anything else?

the check engine light has been on since I bought the car last year. CO2 censor. Have not worried too much about it. What are the possibilities that pieces of the water pump are still in the system?

Is the coolant topped off and was the thermostat checked or replaced? Is it loosing any coolant? Are the vents inside the car giving warm air?
