Mine's a '96 GL, Zetec, MTX.

Mine has just shy of 200,000 miles on it (198,xxx).

No major repairs whatsoever.

My mom had the car before I did, and took terrible care of it. She had the oil changed every 30,000 miles or so, don't think she ever changed the air filter, don't recall plugs or wires ever changed. Since I've had it (193,xxx), the oil has been changed every 2,000 miles (I'll drop this back to 3,000 soon), plugs and wires were changed, and air filter was changed (before I put an intake on it).

Hope this helps-
-Jonathan

I have a 96 Contour GL ATX Zetec

Currently has 122,356 miles

Major/Minor Repairs since 78k / Timing Belt, Waterpump, Alternator, O2-Sensors, Struts, Left side axle shaft, L/R Wheele Bearings, L/R outer tie rod ends, L/R Lower Ball Joints. All Hoses and Belts. Some of these things are general maintence items that any car owner should replace as the miles get high. In addition to the above, I have provided regular oil changes with Mobile 1 every 3k as well as plugs and wires as needed, and other maintenence such as antifreeze flushes, ATX changes, TB and MAF cleaning. I try to fix problems as soon as they start, and I do most of the work my self.

Listen to me now and hear me later (Han's & Fran's, or, Governor Arnold, take your pick).

I must be one of the most blessed guys WRT high mileage vehicles. I have almost 144,000 miles on my 96 Contour Sport 2L. I have nearly everything original. This includes engine, trans, fuel pump, water pump, alternator, and compressor, EGR system, coil pack, cats.

The things that have been changed are rotors, link pins, belt & tensioner, IAC, battery, plugs & wires, wheel bearings, tires, pads. Thats all I can think of although there could be a few more.

Don't even ask how many miles are on my Bronco II (225,500).

I am doing pretty good.

1. 2000 SE sport V6 MTX

2. About 115,000 miles

3. Alternator replaced at about 113,500 miles or so. Only other things done are new brakes pads all around at 100,000 miles and new front rotors at 100,000 miles. and I have gone thru some tires

4. In some things I am good (oil changes) and in other things I forget distracted and never get around to them.

95 Contour GL
2.0L I4
ATX
Recieved in 96 with 20K and change, now has 51K and change

Major repairs:

Spark plugs rusted out for some reason causing 2 cylinders to mis fire. Needed new spark plugs, wires, coilpack. $300 bucks. (got hosed huh.)

Ac problem around 35K, not blowing out vents. Needed vacuum hose re-attachment.

Recently rear tire lost tread, knocked off bumper. Got 4 new tires, took 5 minute epoxy and glued bumper back on. Looks new except for paint cracks from tread smacking bumper.

Needs:

New timing belt, tensioner pulley

New oxygen sensor

New struts in back, and whatever is in the front.

Condition:

I take really good care of it. I also dont drive it much. everything is really close to me. Their opening a new sav-ons by my house. So i have my college across the street from me (walk), now sav-ons (can walk), a new 7-11 (walk), local internet cafe (walk). All i need is a blockbuster and id be all set.

1) 95, GL, Duractech 2.5L, 5 speed manual.

2) 182,218 - all highway.

3) No repairs to engine or drivetrain.

4) Changed oil/filter faithfully every 3K.

I just sold the above and bought a 98 SE Sport. I've been really pleased with the Contour overall but have suffered some of the usual things (water pump, front wheel bearings, blah, blah). The 95 was still going strong, but it was time to trade up...love the leather and CD player

1998 SVT Contour: 142,xxx miles
Replaced plugs, wires, fpu, alternator, starter, clutch and transmission. Transmission was broke by drag racing at about 141,000 miles. Two O2 sensors went out at 141,000 miles also. Third O2 sensor went out at 142,xxx miles. Most parts on this car are new or modded. I hope to make it to 200,000 on the motor. The person that had the car before me put 138,000 mostly interstate miles on the car.
