I have a 95se MTX and of course it comes with the console that houses the flip-up cup holders.
I've seen the SVT center console (at least I think its SVT only) and it has the double cup holder in front of the shifter.
Where would one aquire a SVT style console? Can you get these from Ford? The odds of finding one in a wrecker are about as good as winning the lottery.
So is it basically Ford or swapping with a SVT owner?

I think that was post 98 thing that they put in all the contours from 98-2000. You should be able to get one at a junkyard. I doubt ford still has them but you never know, probably pretty expensive if they do. Good luck.

What colors you interior?
I might trade with you. All I really ned is the ashtray and the cup holder out of your console.

I'm a little hesistant to do a swap only because I'd hate to commit to a swap and find that either console is not in the condition the other expects (make sense)
I'm still trying to cruise the net trying to find pics of the various consoles from 98 up.
Do they vary? or are they the same from GL's to SE's to SVT's??
I haven't checked any wreckers yet....
By the way, my colours are slate gray (plastic trimming) on biege ....and my flipup cup holder is broken.

Check with Bill Jenkins too he may have what you need or be able to get it for you at a low price.

Personally, I would recommend you go with a 98+ GL/LX or SE center console. The SVT's only came in the two colors (although yours is compatible with the beige I believe), but more importantly they came with covers on the center tray between the two seats ... thus eliminating the rear cupholder that is present in the 'lesser' Contours.

you know the "arm-rest", how it flips up to reveal the console right between the seats?
well, if you take that off and remove the black plastic console insert..there is a hidden cup holder in there..kinda like a contour easter egg!
the screws that hold it in are down in those little pockets in the console that look like pen holders for really short pens.
