to all ceg's my promblem is fixed the trans switch that sits on top of trans was the promblem some where inside the switch was bad had a new one put on and my contour is touring again. thanks for all your help also change my fuel filter and she's running like new so any one having a promblem with the tranny jerking or blinking od (overdrive lite ) its most likely the trans switch located right under the air intake hose i will keep you all updated thanks again this website is very helpful through my situation

After a restart did the blinking go away? but the shift hard for a few start cycles? if so I'm having this problem. What did it cost to repair and if you did the work was it difficult?

yes in start up it would be fine .but when i would start up just coming from the store it would shift hard and jerk. its the tans swith it gone bad your transmission my be fine but the switch is the promble it sits right on top of the trans its right under your air intake hose you should be able to see it right behind the battery call around or check with the dealer parts dept tell them you need to replace the trans switch my car is fine i just got it back today

Thanks- I'll give it a shot-- bet it will cost much less than a new tranny!!
