This is more just a summary post for people using the search tool.. I find that I can find many similar problems with the search tool, but many threads end with no solution, no fix.

My 95SE Problem: poor perfomance and throwing EGR codes every frickin day. The CEL was off and on, off and on.

Solution: cleaned out 3 EGR passages behind throttle body (TB) and no more EGR codes, gas mileage improved and smoother accerleration and a bit more pickup. The passages were pretty bad.

My 95SE Problem: severe hesitation after cold start for approx. 2-3 minutes of driving, once the car warmed up you could drive with no stutter or bucking. You could also turn off the car after is warm and restart and drive with no hesitation.

Solution (so far): I accidentaly had a brain fart and totally fried my IAC valve when trying to clean/test it. I put a new IAC valve on last night ($145 with tax CARQUEST). The car initially rev'd high, dropped really low (250-300rpm) stuttered and stammered and there was a slight bog when drove for the first time. While perfoming the IAC swap I had the negative battery cable off....and I made sure it was off for about 20 min. So this initial bog and eratic idle could have been the PCM resetting. Because, this morning I had NO hesitation NO bucking - smooth take off from a cold start. Mind you this is the first morning after the new IAC was installed. I want to give it a week of NO morning problem before I say it was the IAC.

My 95SE Problem: IMRC failure - Open secondaries. The secondaries are stuck open because of a vacuum problem or an electrical problem to the IMRC Vacuum Solenoid. but I don't know which. I removed all vacuum lines leading to the solenoid and IMRC actuator and they seem fine, no cracks. The actuator works and holds vacuum because of a tube test I performed. This weekend I plan on focussing on the solenoid. I will check the vacuum pressure before the solenoid and see if there is any vacuum after the solenoid. From there I will see if its an electrical short to the solenoid.

I find that with open secondaries I have rough acceleration before 3500 rpms then it smoothens out and picks up.

Solution: None yet....the saga continues...
