After getting hit this winter, I got a nice size dent in my front driver-side fender. After doing a search on www.car-part.com I found quite a few affordable used fenders. I don't frequent salvage yards all that often so I'm not sure if they have the parts ready to go or are they still attached to car. If it's the latter, is it difficult to remove a fender? And is the left side the same as the driver side?

You have to take off the front bumper cover to remove the fender. It's not really that difficult, just tedious. The left and right fenders are not the same part (is that what you're asking?). FYI if you buy a new fender from Ford, it won't have a support bracket on the inside.

Their web site asks whether the part is on the left or right side. But I'm not sure if I should be inside or outside the car when I answer that. Driver side or passenger side is less confusing to me.

Thanks for the heads up. Because the fender is at a salvage yard I can make sure to get the bracket, too.

Drivers side is left side.
