On Monday I called the closest Ford dealer to me to make an appointment to have the dash kit installed in my car. The closest dealer to me is a blue oval certified one. Anyway I called the dealer and told them that I needed to have the dash warpage recall fix performed on my car and asked it 7:00 the next morning would be fine. The guy checks something and then says that that would be fine. So the next day at 7:00 I drop off the car and their courtesy van drops me off at work. About lunch time I'm thinking that I should call the dealer and have them flush the cooling system and change the ATX fluid. So I call the dealer. I talk to my service writer and he asks me to come and get the car cause they couldn't perform the dash fix cause they had no kits! So, now they are going to send me a postcard when they get the parts needed to fix my dash. They didn't even offer me a free oil change or anything for the inconvience and this is suppost to be a Blue Oval Certified Dealer. I didn't ***** cause these are the people that are gonna fix my dash whenever they get the parts. They had two opportunities to check if they had the parts available to fix my dash. 1st is when I made the appointment to have the dash fixed and 2nd when I actually dropped off the car!!! Anway just thought I'd share.

Hate to say it, but I think all dealers do that. Had that happen to me several times, but usually I'm in there for a couple of things so at least something gets fixed. Worst thing the dealer ever did to me was work on the engine and forgot to replace the air cleaner assembly. I complained that it was too loud and dropped it off. They said they couldn't find a problem. I take it back and a few days later when I open the truck, there's the air cleaner assembly. I crack open the hood and slap it on, they clearly didn't even open the hood to check it out! All I got out of it was a free oil change. I went back there a few other times and mentioned that incident and word had gotten around so I guess it wasn't too common a thing for them to do.

That also happened to me so many times as well, so now when I need to take my tour to the Dealer, I make the appointment with the service department and then call the parts department to order the parts for the job!
