99 SVT 40,000 miles

I picked up the car at about 35,000 miles. It treated me well for a while, but then i noticed that occasionally it would be damn near impossible to get the car into reverse. By Damn near impossible, i mean WRENCHING the stick into reverse. Roll the car a little back/forward and try again. Rev the car and try again. Eventually it would slip into the gate, but sometimes it would pop out a little and grind like crazy.

It also did it a little with first gear.

Now i just realized that the clutch pedal vibrates a little bit on shifts. More so at high speeds i think. If i depress the pedal to make a shift, there is a little vibrating (almost more like pusling) feeling.

(My Guess on the vibration is Throwout Bearing, no clue on the shifting)

Welcome to CEG!

Do you have any kind of warranty?

Trannies are not cheap, and it sounds like yours is chewed.

Yeah. I got the car with an extended warrantee until 2005 or so.

Apparently these nice people wanted to get rid of this for a reason I thought they let it go a bit too easy. This is just one of those problems that you can't catch without some driving time i guess.

I've got that tough getting into reverse problem sometimes also. I've got 123k miles on my 98 svt and it has been doing it for at least 30k. I've always been able to get it into gear easy if I shift through all of the other gears once or twice if reverse is acting up. After going through the other gears, it goes in like nothing was ever wrong... I don't have the warranty you do though, so I just deal...
