$235 to install both skirts is NOT bad. That is about three hours of work on each side.
There are a series of hangers that have to be mounted to your Rocker Molding, and the ends of the Skirts have to be mounted to the fender rolls.
My Dealer has crushed my SE Sport skirts many times, and the Body shop has repaired/replaced them 2x already. Every time I get the car back, it looks like NEW !
It may be your best spent $235.

this is what i did. i got some bed liner spray for pickups. then i got about 3-4 12"by 1" strips of stainless steel for a side. then i painted the lip/clip part on the skirt then i measured it to the car so it gives me marks on car. then i got a trusty drill and some aluminum rivets. i drilled 2holes in each metal piece and on the body of the car. then i riveted it into place. i put on the skirt by the lip/chip thingy into the metal pieces. then i drilled some holes under the car like 3 and put rivets there. aafter i put some bed liner so it dont leak, along with cocking. so no rust comes out. takes about 1 hour a said. with figuring out how to do it. probably both sides can be done in 1 hour and 30 minutes. hope this helps.

can you explain your process alittle better. where do you jack up the car. Do the lifts at the shop fit under?

I had accidentally trashed the skirts on one side of my SVT. The skirt + install from a local dealer was $335. This was 3 years ago.

Thenry...you got robbed. I just had my right side skirt on my SVT replaced. It cost me $74.56 from Ford and I had a body shop paint and install it for 80 bones. It was an excellent paint job BTW.
Moral of the story is don't take it to the dealer and let them paint/install it. Just find a decent local body shop. Ask them for pics of their work or have them show you some current projects. If they are a good shop they will be more than happy to show off for you...if they don't want to show you stuff, go elsewhere.

i understand that 235 might not be a bad deal from a ford body shop........who i trust since it is a ford product and therefore if they fall off, i have someone to complain to.........but the only thing that bothers me is that everyone who does do it themselves takes under 2 hours and ford wants 6 hours to do it? makes me a little uneasy......especially when the guy who did my estimate just looked at the skirts stuffed in my car, no lifting on a jack or anything, didnt even look hard enough to see that the rivets and mounting brackets were taped directly on the skirts themselves and then proceeded to charge me for parts as well, all done on a computer.....makes me uneasy.....

I probably did get robbed, but at the time I didn't had the money to spend for it, so I didn't think much of it. My SVT was red, and the replacement skirt came painted. Didn't have to be painted by the dealer.
