My '98 SVT occasionally suffers from the throttle sticking upon release.
I changed the air filter but the problem is somewhat intermittent. The quality of fuel here in Southern CA is dubious at best, the octane was dropped from 92 to 91 recently and no one said a darned thing!
Could bad gas cause this?

Do you mean that the throttle is stuck closed or that when shifting, the RPMs hang at 2000 or so for a couple seconds? Stuck closed = clean the throttle body. Hang = do the throttle hang fix. Search for throttle hang or clean TB depending on the problem.

The RPMs hang at about 3000. Thanks for the reply, but I need some info on how to do the fix. Can I do this myself? What is involved?

Yeah, it's somewhere in the "how to" section, or you can buy a new intake pipe to replace all that junk...one is about $80, the other is about $.80.

Ahh, here you go!

Thanks for the fix. I printed it out and will install it as soon as I get my car back from Vortech. I am waiting for the local dealer to install (under warranty) new catalytic converters before a supercharger is fitted.
Ever heard of the catalytic converters being plugged up at 50,000 miles?
