On the 95-2.5-V6 you have the vacuum actuated IMRC.

The main vacuum lines comes down from off the UIM and they connect to what looks like a solenoid on the engine block.

From there a single vacuum line connects to the IMRC assembly that controls the linkages.

The actual name/description or part number I'm looking for if you have it is for that solenoid that connects to the engine block. What is this... is it the IMRC solenoid? or IMRC resevoir solenoid? I'm convinced this is the part thats faulty... are there other vacuum lines I can't see that connect to this?

I removed that whole vacuum line assembly to inspect it and the look fine, no cracks.

I connected a tube to the IMRC assembly and was able to actuate the secondaries... which leaves one part not inspected, not tested...that solenoid! I just don't know the official name so I can talk to Ford for a price.

Incorrect. Check link in my prior post. EGR valve is UFO shaped device to right of throttle body with pipe connection. DPFE sensor is below that and has 2 vacuum hoses connected to pipe from exhaust manifold. EVR (EGR vacuum regulator) solenoid is a black plastic device hanging to upper right, which on later models is mounted to UIM but on a '95 I believe it's mounted on firewall.

ya those are great pictures, I've saved the lot from ebay

The bugger though is that its a small part way down there...and Ford wants $93 CAD for it. It's too expensive to buy and throw in as a "lets see if a new one works" So its' either that part or the electrics leading to it.

I think I'm going to have to dig deeper on the electrics because when I pulled off the the vacuum lines to it I heard a big release of air... which leads me to think that its working. ...and with it being $93...I think I will have to check the wiring to narrow down the cause..

The IMRC solenoid is supplied from a vacuum reservoir, that was the woosh.

If the vacuum pot works (test leakdown too) and you're getting vacuum, The solenoid is the only other part.

You could take it out and test it.

I got one for $37 at a local US dealership.
