My KDC-MP819 has Kenwwods basic Q Mode Equalizer. After a year of playing with it the sound had gotten terrible.
I reset the machine and it sounds much better. My question is this , Should you only adjust the user mode? what effect does adjusting the other modes (Rock Ect) have. I noticed they have different effect points (60Hz instead of 100HZ). Yet I cannot get the adjustment level to change. In the user setting am I limited to only adjusting Bass Levels at 100HZ? I realixe other models have a more advanced Q mode.
Sorry for the rambling snd if anyone can explain this Q mode better than Kenwood's web site, I'd appreciate it.

Also I have had to remake a couple of CD mixes (6 to 8 albums per Cd) beacause of skipping and misreads.
Are thes units more suceptable to scratches than a typical home unit or PC Drive? Thanks for all your help.

i have an x969 to install so i havent made any adjustments yet. i think its q has a few more options. do u still have the manual? if u pick any of the preset modes (rock, pop, dance, jazz, etc) i dont think u can change them. you may have to start from scratch. r u saying the custom mode wont allow u to make the changes either?
