About every minute or so when casually driving the car "chirps" (any RMP) this single chirping sound is accompanied by a split second of power loss. I have heard knocking and pinging before on SC?ed engines but this does not sound like early detonation? Just had the 30k service done (early) and every fluid/filter that can be changed was changed. It?s almost like a K-Car I owned when it had bad gas. (currently running 92 octane with injector cleaner every 3k or so)

Any suggestions, I am going to bring the car into the shop mid-week (to have the warped dash re-fixed) and just want to get an idea of what the problem may be.

Thanks

Just a thought, but if if the engine misfires or bucks, the serp belt may be chirping because of the sudden change in engine rpm.

A/C compressor kicking in-out? Some cars feel the loss more than others. If your engine mount our control arm bushings are worn, this will translate into a drivetrain rock which can easily cause stuff to move around and make strange noises. I know - mine does it. (control arms need replacement).

I would second this. My girlfriend's Subaru does this all the time. Whenever the compressor comes on you hear a chirp followed by a power loss. This fits your description perfectly.

Thanks for the comments! but the AC is not on. The chirping may be from the rear (fuel pump)? but it's hard to tell.

Thanks

Drove around today with the AC off and that looks to be the problem.

Will look into the bushings.

Thanks
