Renters/HO insurance is the only thing that will cover that.

Sorry to hear this! Looks like they knew exactly what they wanted out of your car. Hope you made a police report.

to be honest with you the jerk off that did it to your car obviously dosn't steal stereo stuff to much just for the simple fact that he broke the glass what an amateur the jack ass that nailed my truck last time yanked my door cylinder out putting a tare in my door about 3 inches long so he would'nt half to sit in the broken glass while trying to attempt to remove my stereo. the best part was he never got a single thing out of the vehicle lol. so one lessoned learned on my part was got rid of the hopped up stereo [censored] out of my car and invest the money on other things like performance mods more power lol.

it can be covered on your auto policy. all you have to do is tell your insurance agent that you have non factory stereo equip. and give them a total price. you might want to check out your friends man, the guys just brought along tools to take care of those bolts? hmmm, thats kinda crazy.

I've had this happen twice now too. Doesn't get any easier the second time. I recomend you look for any and all possible damage including key holes. My last breakin happened in February and it was very cold so it wasn't till I started to wash the car by hand that I found the suplimental damage. Fortuneatley with my insureance you have up to a year to finalize your claim. Sorry to see it happened to you though. That was a fine looking system you had there.

IIRC renter's insurance only covers thing stolen from your car that aren't a normal/permanent part of it. So if you had the Mona LIsa painting chillin in the back of yoru car and someone ripped it you would get paid for that but stereo equipment doesn't count. Now different insurance companies may have different policies on that but I'm pretty sure you should be covered under your AUTO insurance if you have full coverage.
That really sucks that it happened man but I'm kinda wondering did you have a car alarm on that thing? Not trying to throw salt in your wound but I would definitely invest in one if you have that kinda money wrapped up in stereo.

This is why my money will go toward a good two-way alarm system BEFORE the frivelous things.

Oh wait, after they broke in they drove it away. To tell you the truth, I'd rather have someone just take the whole frikkin thing than bust up some $hit and leave it. Although I had 2 new sets of golf clubs, 100's of cd's, wheels, etc, etc, I still would rather deal with that than go through what you have to go through. Sorry man, not a good night neither of us had. Ken=ex-Contour owner :-{
