You going F/I on this? If you're shooting for 400hp for under 3k, the 351 would be the way to go.

All things equal, I would go with the 351. There is no replacement for displacement

I think by F/I he meant fuel injection...not forced induction. I could be wrong though.

turbocharger(s) sourced from a junkyard would fit the bill nicely. I'm putting a pair of T3's on my 302 this winter. or you could do a bigger single as well. PM or IM me (RaraSVT on AIM) and we can chat, I've done my homework on the turbo setups . . .

Personally, no matter what, i would skip the Cleveland heads, the effort to adapt them to the block, intake, and exhaust will end up costing about the same as some nice used afr 185's or even 205's and those will work as well or better, and be 50 lbs lighter to boot.

350-400 ponies for under 3 grand. This is very easy with the 351.

351 short block
351 heads with a GOOD port job(cheap)
Edelbrock aluminun heads, $1100 at summit and a CARB #
A good cam
Edelbrock or Trick flow intake

The tricky part is finding the wiring harness. I'm pretty sure Painless makes one, and I think ford still supplies one from the '95 cobra R. Pick up a summit racing catalog, they have the best prices on new stuff, but 350-400 is not that hard w/ a 351.
