I posted question earlier, I crawled under the car and found a wire that has got some coating stripped off. It is going into the alternator. Could this be causing the lights to flash? They have been doing it for a long time but have progressively gotten worse. The Ford Dealer told me that is not the problem and that it needs the new alternator. Any thought please. It is over $500 for the new alternator installed.

Put a new shielded wire on it for starters and see what happens. It needs to be replaced regardless of any other probs.
