anyone know anything about these euro-dezign lights sellling on ebay? are they any good? They claim they're HID, which probably isn't true. It also says they're xenon-krypton. Just wondering if anyone knew anything. thx

xenon or krypton filled bulbs are NOT hids.

They could be xenon filled, but that doesnt mean that they are arc discharge lamps. A true HID lamp is going to need ballasts. By their design, it is impossible for them to be plug and play. The D2S/D2R base is incompatible with the factory Contour 9005/6 base. Sure they could be rebased, but you will still have the issue of overpowering the halogen designed optics when you put that powerful of a bulb inside of the factory lamp. Your most likely not going to find a rebased bulb for cheap either.

If they are halogen, do yourself and all the other drivers a favor and stay away from bulbs with a color temperature above ~4000K. Anything above that is extremely blue and will glare, especially in poor weather.
