exactly my point, this is coming down to "throw a 3l and a turbo on it, and it'll be a different story!" vs a stock srt......
stock for stock.. we know what happens. modded, for modded.... I've still never seen a 12 second svt.

Common now, that isn't where its coming too. The stock 2.5 with a turbo is doing just as well in the 1/4 as the 3L. That was a 2.5L with bolt on Vortech that is essentially turning times that are just as good as your SRT-4. Nitrous on a 2.5L is easily the match of a turbo contour or SRT-4. There is no "which one is better deal" or anything else when you are talking about modded cars. Hell, a stock Neon SXT with a good shot of nitrous and a good driver is probably a match too, and if it comes to it sleeper has a badass zetec on nitrous too. These days you just need to pick your poison and go with it.
BTW, your SRT-4 isn't stock either.
In the end it all boils down to drivers, preferences, mods, and luck of course.

there are a couple of srt-4's in the high 12's. I really think the argument is old. Who cares if the srt-4 is faster it's amazing to me that the svt which was first seen in 1998 is being compared to one of the best sport compacts in 2003. I think it's been said before, but it's a compliment to the contour. Argument over who cares.

Well I heard of some with mods dipping into high 13's and I will say the turbo 2.5 liter running 9 psi will take it with grip. I will will emabarrass these cars in about two months. My new bullet proof engine will be going for 450+ hp and you will see a svt in the 12's this winter I promise. I can't wait to see the faces on even the best srt and wrx soon.

The SRT4 is faster stock for stock I think we estabilshed that. But we are speaking hypothetically if they both were running boost (yada yada) they would be comparable in performance. I loved my old contour but it was by no means a dragster 15.6@87 stock. It was just zippy and fun to tool around in. Tell you what when I get done with my Single Turbo fox body mustang I will bring it out to play. I will give the SRT to the 330ft mark before I even leave

umm i hate to tell you this...but i drove an 03 Neon SXT...brand new...and they are not something to be taken lightly...way zippier than any contour SVT i have ever driven...which has only been 2...all stock...but still...zippier by far.

modded for modded Argument is stupid, that was my point. I won't even talk about Mike Crawford and his 8 second FWD world record holding srt-4. How long has my car been on the market??
I hate that it has to come to this every time my car is brought up, but you asked for it.
