I'm starting to get some funny noises happening in the engine area. First, there's a ticking sound coming from the top of the motor passenger side rear bank, sounds like lifters to me. It's always made the noise now it's just louder. Then the fact that when I start the car warm, there's this horrible knocking sound like a cold start sound, but it won't go away till I rev the engine, and some times it just starts making the noise during idle. The other noise is this whirring type noise that sounds like a bad bearing or something, but I can't tell where it's coming from, it sounds like about dead centre of the passenger side engine half way to the oil pan, so kinda in the middle of nowhere.

These noises are really worrying me, I hope it's not like bad lifters/spun bearing/water pump or something, cause I also need to replace my lower control arm bushings. Reason being I'm leaving my job in less than 2 months going to school, which means going from 2 incomes, mine being quite a bit more than my wifes, to her income and my part time, and money is quite tight.

I thought i had a bad exhaust leak. Heard the ticking from the passenger side. Ticking was very loud when I accelerated. Lasted about two weeks, than my motor went. I would have this checked out to make sure your engine doesnt have bigger troubles. Dont mean to scare you, I just put my toubles on hold thinking it was an exhaust leak when all this time it wasnt. All of a sudden the ticking got louder and than a horrible grinding.
Im in the middle of buying a new engine now. 64,000 miles
